Capital Area Workforce Development Board is a partnership of business leaders and public organizations committed to the economic development of Wake and Johnston County. The Board is comprised of up to 25 members, 51% of whom must represent the Private Sector. The remaining members include representatives from the followings groups:

  • Communtiy Based Organizations and Organized Labor (who must constitute >15 % of membership) 
  • Educational Agencies
  • Vocational Rehabilitation Agencies and Public Assistance Agencies
  • Economic Development Agencies
  • The Public Employment Service

Members serve 2 year terms and are appointed by the Chairman of the Wake County Board of Commissioners.
