Assisting
area businesses in developing and maintaining a quality workforce
is a top priority of the Capital Area Workforce Development
Board. Each JobLink Career Center in Wake and Johnston Counties
has a Business Services Liaison, whose job is to work with
area businesses and, if applicable, to provide assistance
to help businesses meet their employment, training and staffing
goals.
Listed below are services available for businesses:
Job Posting and Recruiting -
Post available positions, interview on or off-site, access
to job seekers who want to work now.
Rapid Response - Downsizing
and company closure employee assistance.
Labor
and Industry Trends - Information
on work availability, employment trends, wage rates and industry
projections.
Skills Testing - Identify gaps between
student skills and employer needs; test to improve skill levels
and strengthen communication, problem-solving and interpersonal
skills; be provided with evidence of attained skills.
Incumbent Workforce Development Program
- The program provides assistance to employers confronted
with the need for new and upgraded worker skills that are
necessary to maintain or increase their competitiveness in
the global economy.
WorkKeys Job
Profiling
- WorkKeys is a leading
assessment system that compares the skills and the skill
levels needed to perform a job with the skills and skill
levels a person currently possesses.
Capital Area has an
ACT-licensed Job Profiler available. Our profiler will work
with a group of employees to complete a job analysis. This
analysis consists of identifying tasks most critical to
their job, and the skills and skill levels required to enter
the job and perform it effectively.
By matching job profile information with an individual's
scores on WorkKeys assessments, an employer can make
reliable decisions about hiring, training, and program
development needs.
Businesses using WorkKeys report:
- Reduced turnover
- Fewer production errors
- Reduced training time
- Decreased time to full competency
Find case studies at
www.workkeys.com, and then contact Capital Area Business
Services at 856-5390 to discuss how WorkKeys can help your
company.
