The On-the-Job Training (OJT) program recognizes there is often a gap between the skill requirements needed to do a job and the skills a new-hire brings to the workplace. OJT incentivizes employers to hire individuals closely (not fully) qualified. The OJT program provides the employer a training subsidy reimbursement up to 50% of the wage of the new-hire to bring this person up to speed (to offset the new-hire training costs).
